Ree Salter would like to invite North Texas Whip members to THREE days of open driving at her ranch, Wits End, which is located at 12721 Highway 199, Poolville, Texas.

**Since we will be following the state and county guidelines, social distancing is required, and masks must be worn if social distancing is not possible.**

Because of insurance requirements, it is only open to NTW members.

Ree will have membership forms at the ranch for new members to fill out along with the waiver. Please pay with a check or exact change. Sorry, she can’t do credit or debit cards.

You can haul in one, two, or even three days or rough camp overnight. The gate to the ranch will open at 9:00 AM both days and you’re welcome to drive until dusk. This is a great opportunity to relax, visit with fellow whips, ask questions or compare information with other drivers – and of course drive in open country.

There are 90 acres of rolling pasture land with 2+ miles of short mowed driving trails throughout the property. Open driving means there are no classes or set schedule of activities. You are welcome to drive or ride at your leisure throughout the property. There’s plenty of room for parking and hitching/saddling your equine. Porta potty for the humans and water for the horses will be available. You’ll need to bring your own drinking water and lunch or snacks.

If you’re planning on staying the night we have paddocks to stable your equine – please RSVP so we will have them set up for you. There’s no charge – just bring your feed and a bucket for water.

We have a 125’ x 250’ grass arena with barrels and pilings. There is an open area where we’ll set up a 10 gate & reverse cones course. In addition we’ll set up a 6 pole bending pattern, ply wood sheet bridge, mail box on a barrel, wheel trough, stop & hold pad and anything else we can think of for you to practice for future trail classes.

A current Coggins and signed liability wavier are required before unloading. This is a NTW event and follows the NTW Safety Rules. Wearing a helmet is mandatory when driving in open country. Any youth less than 16 yoa must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Harness breeching is required on all hitches. Dogs must be on a leash attached to a human or contained at all times.

Please contact Ree Salter at: ree@witsendcorgi.com if you are planning on attending so we can get a rough count of how many are coming and any special needs or last minute instructions. You can see an aerial view of Wits End at our website: WitsEndCorgi.com. Ree will e-mail you directions and a copy of the liability waiver.

If the drive has to be canceled due to weather you’ll be sent an e-mail Friday evening prior.
